Our festive (plastic) bucket list

December 16, 2014 at 1:50 PM

It’s here! Christmas is just around the corner and it’s time to make a start on the never ending list of preparations.

It’s always the same story at Christmas time. You’ve managed to get the biggest turkey, but forgotten about the nibbles. You’ve bought plenty of drinks for the adults, but nothing for the kids. Between the cards, crackers and the carols, you’re barely left with any time to enjoy yourself. But this year, help is at hand.

At H&O we love Christmas, and want to help make yours a little bit merrier. So we have put together a list of ways to make your festive season that little bit easier, using… you guessed it, buckets!

Making your own tree stand is the perfect way to give your Christmas a homemade touch. Or maybe, it’ll just be a good way of keeping the kids entertained while you tackle the mountain of other preparations. If you haven't put your tree up, then shame on you - check out our tree stand how-to guide quick smart!

Chopped wood storage

If you’re lucky enough to have an open fire in your home, then you probably know that Christmas is the perfect time to use it. Nothing quite brings the family together like some crackling logs and a toasted marshmallow or two. You probably also know, however, what a pain it is to store chopped wood.

Storing them inside can lead to a woodlouse infestation, and storing them outside is impossible in the winter weather. Fear not though, because a bucket is the perfect storage solution. Just get yourself a lidded bucket and you can store chopped wood all year round, inside or out.

Igloo

If we are blessed with a white Christmas this year, then building an igloo is the perfect way to celebrate. And your bucket can be converted from storage container to construction tool quicker than you can say HO HO H&O.

Find yourself a suitably sized bucket from our website and pack it with enough snow to make a brick and simply plonk it down where you want to build. With enough creativity, snowfall and buckets you could even build yourself a snow palace!

Multi-Purpose Christmas Day Mega Bucket!

And finally, we present the super adaptable Multi-Purpose Christmas Day Mega Bucket!  Yes, our buckets are so versatile that they can be used for several different purposes over the course of just one day.

On Christmas morning, your H&O bucket can serve as a wrapping paper disposal unit to keep your living room nice and tidy. By lunchtime your bucket will find its way to the kitchen where it can be used as a turkey de-frosting station, or even as a place to keep the champagne on ice. In the evening, your bucket can be re-purposed again, this time as the perfect Christmas storage pod. Just pack away all the festive decorations, party hats and unwanted gifts and they will be ready to use again come Christmas 2015.

These are just a few of the ubiquitous applications for our buckets this Christmas. If we've missed anything out, why not tweet your own at https://twitter.com/HandOPlastics ?
